Big Hair Don’t Care

I love big hair! I like having big, voluptuous, full bodied long hair flicking around all over the place.

I am not going to pretend that I spend hours over my hair grooming routine. The truth of the matter is I don’t even like brushing my hair. I have been very fortunate that I inherited my mum’s genetics for having thick hair. This is is not always the dream that it seems to be.

(Drying and brushing thick hair is not quick).

I am going to share with the products that I use and love. Some are at a steal and some are at a higher price point but it will put you on right path to getting super gorgeous locks!

To start I use The Wet Brush to brush out any knots, as believe me I get a lot! This is a super comfortable brush which is kind to hair and gets out all stubborn knots. Very affordable at boots for £11.99.

I use Groovy Food Coconut Oil. Take 2 teaspoons and put in a ramekin dish. Microwave for 10 seconds and use as a treatment. Apply from the mid to end lengths and massage it up into a bun(perfect on Sunday night when watching Dinner Date).

I like to leave this for a good 2 hours but if you are pushed for time, then 20 minutes still does the trick.

I like to alternate between 2 shampoos. My stylist Siobhan at Paul Edmonds says “You should have 2 on the go” So 2 it is! I use:

Shu Uemura Art of Hair – Color Lustre Brilliant Glaze Shampoo
as a luxury shampoo

Palmer’s, Coconut Oil Formula Conditioning Shampoo
or John Frieda’s Luxurious volume shampoo.

I only use 1 conditioner and this is John Frieda’s Brilliant Brunette Multi tone Moisturising Conditioner. This helps to pack in all the lost moisture back into my locks.

Depending on my budget I will go between the Redken All Soft Heavy Cream which is a higher price point. Or if I am feeling the pinch I will go for the John Frieda Frizz Ease Miraculous Recovery. I will leave this in for 5 minutes in the shower before I wash off.

Before drying my hair I add Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil to keep my hair moisturised.

I need a powerful hair-dryer that can dry my hair throughout and quickly otherwise ill be waiting hours. I use the Babyliss Turbo Shine 2000. It has 3 settings and dries my hair in 15 minutes!

After my hair is dry I give it a good spritz with Organix Coconut Oil Weightless Hydrating Oil Mist. It feeds my hair with extra moisture and leaves my hair smelling yummy enough to eat!
